Pros and cons of Yertle the Turtle - Dr. Seuss app for iPhone and iPad

Yertle the Turtle - Dr. Seuss app good for

Its a great App for kids and for people like me who are learning English! You must have it !
A good story, suitable for young children, with rhyme and a King of the Castle theme. An adult, who guides the learning, can extend the learning to include character attributes, behaviors and life lessons such as caring, being a friend, and being careful what you ask for, by way of just a few examples.
My two daughters love hearing the story on this app. They have a choice between reading along or auto play where the words light up as they are being said. Great app for kids.
Interactive, helps with pronunciation and entertaining. Love the background sound effects.
"Yertle the Turtle" is Dr. Seuss magic, both in the story and the illustrations. The app works like a charm, with read-it-yourself, read-to-me with manual page turn, and full auto play mode selection on the opening page. The reader is excellent, and his voice impressions of story characters add to the experience, as do the background setting sounds of a water environment. In read-to-me and auto play modes, the exact word being read highlights in blue so that a childs eyes can follow the story on the page and actually identify each word as the reader comes to it. I am excited to have found this for my granddaughter; no mindless games for her on grandpas phone, no sir! This combines entertainment, involvement, and learning into one, and is a great app for anyone who, at least from time to time, may need to pull a rabbit out of the hat in occupying a young childs attention while on the go.

Some bad moments

I must have read Yertle the Turtle to my daughter a hundred times when she was little. This app captures the fun of reading, with the bonus of some limited interaction for kids as they read or read along. The interactions are simple but thats fine for small children. The artwork is superbly rendered and the scrolling is fluid.
This is a great read along and read too book. My 4 year old autistic son really loves it.
Dr Seuss comes alive in this simple enhanced eBook. Just enough interaction; useful and practical. Engages the reader/viewer. I love it.
Great ebook.. Very colorful..could use a little more graphics..but great just as it is!
Ive got five of the Dr. Seuss ebooks and this one is the best so far. Some reviews say limited interaction, but actually there are multiple touch responses on every page. On the page where the the turtles stack, it counts then from 1 to 9; when Mack burps, there are actually 2 different sound effects. The Big Brag has even better reading (thats a huge compliment), but Yertle The Turtle is the king of the Seuss books so far.
My high school is doing seussical the musical and I tried out for yurtle the Turtle. This app is the reason I got the role because its a book in your hand. We had to memorize out characters books and this app helped
